The Summer of 86 at 40 Music Video Companion series will post every Friday, featuring a discussion of an artist, song & music video from a song featured in the top 10 of the Casey Kasem American Top 40.

Van Halen relaunched with Sammy Hagar as its frontman in 1986. “Why Can’t This Be Love” was the first look of an era of the band that would be deemed “Van Hagar”.

Joining me to discuss this pivotal moment in rock is Jacob Givens, whom you might recognize due to his immense popularity from his 90s alternative TikTok videos he produces. Jacob is also a writer, actor, director and musician in his own right and will be joining us for FOUR music video companion episodes for 1986.
