Closing with a Song - I Think We're Alone Now - Tiffany

I absolutely adore Tiffany and this was the one that launched her to a rather short brush in mega stardom. This video is one of the most 80s of 80s things you’re ever going to see. Its legacy has long lasted too, even fully inspiring the Robin Sparkles material for How I Met Your Mother as well as many countless other references in pop culture over the years. A question I like to ask is how long it took for a person to find out that this iconic song was actually a cover?

Maxwell Haddad returns to discuss this music video. And he’s in a really interesting spot that I tend to enjoy. He was born the year this music video came out. I’m always keen on the perspective of those who weren’t there for “the moment” and can look back upon it with some distance.

Due to copyright and fair use laws as well as Apple and Spotify sweeps for such things, I’m not going to roll the dice and be including a clip of the song in the episode. However, you can watch the entire video before listening right here.

The Brandon Peters Show will return Monday (12/21) with The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) featuring Jen Edds of the Brassy Broadcasting Company.
