It feels right to close a weeklong show with a song before the curtain drops. I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s where music videos were a big part of pop culture. Going back and discussing these on a podcast has always been a curiosity of mine and now this show will have a segment to scratch that itch.
The Monday show guest will join me for the music video discussion which means Scott Mendelson from Forbes is back. I’ve selected “Opposites Attract” by Paula Abdule as the first video in the series. Abdul was at peak popularity during this time and this is quite possibly her most well known video thanks to the inclusion of an animated cat.
We touch on the video, but a little bit about the album it came from and Paula Abdul herself. Scott also reveals a danceworthy bit of trivia about himself.
Due to copyright and fair use laws as well as Apple and Spotify sweeps for such things, I’m not going to roll the dice and be including a clip of the song in the episode. However, you can watch the entire video before listening right here.
The Brandon Peters Show will return Monday (9/28) with Grosse Pointe Blank and Special Guest Aaron Neuwirth (Variety, We Live Entertainment, Out Now With Aaron & Abe).

A Note On The Vocals
Due to the limitations of Skype, Brandon’s vocals from the Skype recording will be used in close cut portions of the conversation, showcasing a noticeable dip in quality. Further episodes of the show will be utilizing Zoom, eliminating this discrepancy.
