Mike Vanderbilt is back! After meeting on the Jason Goes To Hell Episode last year, I knew I’d be bringing him back regularly. I really enjoy discussing films, film history and research and we are on a pretty strong wavelength in that regard. Plus, his knowledge and bravado impresses me and I hope you as well.
He’s bringing 1976’s Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw on the show, which I’d never seen before. The conversation is fun and spirals all around the film, its era and its players. While some may seem a bit off track, it stemmed out from something to do with the movie and is quite a good discussion in itself.
We also talk about Mike’s terrific youthful podcast The Windy City Double Feature Picture Show. It’s an impressively deep dive into Chicago filmgoing culture of the 70s and 80s (Other decades too) that goes beyond being entertaining for straight film discussion.
This was an incredibly fun, entertaining and interesting conversation to be part of and I hope Mike and I entertain you the listener as well!
