Out of Sight with Maxwell Haddad

Maxwell Haddad and I met through podcasting on Out Now with Aaron and Abe. When it comes to cinema and television, he has a beautiful mind regarding his criticism. Many of the best conversations regarding film and television I’ve had in my life have been with Maxwell.

My first podcast, the IchaPod CraneCast, was co-hosted with Maxwell and former guest Aaron Neuwirth. From there we also made a show to cover 24’s return a couple years later. Maxwell also had guest written for my Naptown Nerd blog in the past as well. Surprisingly, in 5 years, he never guested on Cult Cinema Cavalcade. But alas, when this show was in planning, he was an immediate person to welcome on.

Maxwell has had his hand in a great many things, but in the more recent years, he’s focused heavily on theater and Broadway. He’s done stuff in multimedia and financial backing in covering the art. And now, he’s been nominated for a Tony Award, which we discuss on the show.

He’s brought to the table 1998’s Out Of Sight, which is an absolutely stellar movie that perhaps gets overlooked. Possibly one of the best of the decade and for Steven Soderbergh, the film just bumps! Have you seen it? What are your thoughts? Take a listen to ours and enjoy this terrific episode!
