Today starts a new recurring segment called “Products of the Panic”. Show regular Troy Brownfield (The Saturday Evening Post) and I will use this series to take a look at some of the media and propaganda created during the height of the Satanic Panic in the 1980s. Troy is very much an expert in the field and we’ve discussed it on more than one occasion.

Our first subject is a 3 hour documentary called Hell’s Bells. This one really goes after the rock and heavy metal scene as well as just general pop music. It’s available to watch on YouTube or Archive.org. It’s insane to believe that this was made and hear the things said in it. And Troy and I do not hold back on our reactions and thoughts.

This conversation is rather lengthy and that’s no surprise considering it’s a 3 hour film. I’ve split our session in two. You’ll get the other half of it next week. So for now, enjoy this first hour of our chat about Hell’s Bells.
