Enjoy Godzilla Vs Kong over the last week? I did! I’m following that movie up with a discussion on the 2016 Toho refresh, Shin Godzilla. Not only is it a fresh take on the series that has 30+ entries, it’s also one of the best Godzilla films ever made. Perhaps the best since the original.
This film won the Japanese academy award for Best Picture even. It was a huge box office success and was rather well liked. Having done the entire Showa era on the previous show a year ago, it was nice to catch up with ‘ol radiation breath again.
Also catching up is Aaron Neuwirth, who makes his return to the show. Aaron is the biggest Godzilla expert and fan that I know and it’s always a fun and educational time talking Kaiju with him.
If you’ve never seen Shin Godzilla before – seek it out! I’m of the mind that even the biggest Godzilla skeptic or person who just doesn’t care about this stuff would enjoy this movie.
