A couple weeks before launching this show, as I was knee deep in preparations, recording, scheduling and a bunch of madness, I somehow found time to squeeze in time to review an indie rock documentary called Bleeding Audio. The story of the band The Matches has wound up becoming one of my favorite films in 2020. I was particularly taken with how it was told and the specific details that only could have come from the talented hand that crafted it; director Chelsea Christer. She was immediately targeted as someone I wanted to have on this show.
Enthusiastic doesn’t begin to describe how excited I was when she agreed to come on. And it didn’t end there, she’s an absolutely marvelous human. Her story, the tale of making her documentary and her perspective on The Decline of Western Civilization incredibly enhance and paint this as a special episode. She’s brought out the best in me in this recording and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did prepping, recording and editing it.
Chelsea has moved the marker for the longest episode in the show’s young history, but it’s all very engaging, educational and entertaining. We talk about many things here (Christopher Nolan, Doctor Who) and her focus and thoughts are quite terrific and inspiring to hear.
