There are some technicalities abound, but there are some who consider Doctor Who’s 23rd season, “The Trial of a Time Lord”, one long running serial of 14 parts. It’s easily debatable as there are clearly 3 separate serials that stand on their own with a wrap-around. But, to appease both parties of ideals, we are going to do it in one shot this week, but in 4 separate segments.
Our first piece of evidence presented is “The Mysterious Planet” which comes from legendary Doctor Who scribe Robert Holmes. This one features a revamp of the show after feedback on the previous season, and a much lesser budget. We meet The Inquisitor, The Valeyard and Sabalom Glitz in the trial kick off. And who doesn’t love underground tunnels and big goofy robots when it comes to Doctor Who?
