Rachel and I are both quite fond of this two part story, but the road to get to it and the behind the scenes turmoil is just as exciting and just as amusing to discuss.

The Ultimate Foe wasn’t what it was supposed to be and its debatable if it wouldn’t have been better than what we had. There are a lot of big Who ideas that come in here and never are revisited (Or are they?).

From my standpoint, this fits in my abstract, wild, mindf*** type Who tale that I love to see. There’s some great ambition here and the fact that the second story was written in a matter of days in haste is very impressive.

With the season at an end, as well as Colin Baker’s run as the Doctor, we reflect on it all to close out.

Rachel Frend from the The Five(ish) Fangirls Podcast and the Gold Standard – Oscars Podcast is the Companion for Doctor Who: The Colin Baker Era.

The Brandon Peters Show will return tomorrow (4/1) to close with a song.
