“Hazard” by Richard Marx is a music video that came to mind IMMEDIATELY upon the desire to do music video retrospectives as a part of this show. When this video came out, I was but 8 years old, but I found myself quite entrance by it and the pop culture phenomenon of the time of “Who murdered this girl?”
Seeing as we delved into a bit of a murder mystery ourselves this week with The Bird With The Crystal Plumage, it was the perfect time to pull this one out. And funny enough, my guest had never seen the video nor heard the song until the record so she’s coming into it with very fresh eyes. It made for a fun discussion.
Molly Henery joins me again to discuss the song, the video and trying to once and for all solve the mystery of “Hazard”. Or rather still leave it ambiguous.
